REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Definition of Shareware. . .
Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
buying it. If you try a shareware program and continue using it, you are
expected to register. Individual programs differ on details -- some
request registration while others require it, some specify a maximum
trial period. With registration, you get anything from the simple right
to continue using the software to an updated program with printed manual.
Copyright laws apply to both shareware and commercial software, and
the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions
as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just
like commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In
both cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is
in the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right
to copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
specific group. For example, some authors require written
permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their shareware.
Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's
commercial or shareware. The shareware system makes fitting your needs
easier, because you can try before you buy. And because the overhead is
low, prices are low also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee
-- if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.
_____
Ombudsman Statement. . .
This program program is produced by a member of the Association of
Shareware Professionals (ASP). ASP wants to make sure that the shareware
principle works for you. If you are unable to resolve a shareware-related
problem with an ASP member by contacting the member directly, ASP may be
able to help. The ASP Ombudsman can help you resolve a dispute or problem
with an ASP member, but does not provide technical support for members'
products. Please write to the ASP Ombudsman at 545 Grover Road, Muskegon,
MI 49442 or send a CompuServe message via CompuServe Mail to ASP
Ombudsman 70007,3536.

CMFiler Disclaimer - Agreement. . .
Users of CMFiler must accept this disclaimer of warranty: CMFiler is
supplied as-is. The author disclaims all warranties, expressed or
implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability
and of fitness for any purpose. The author assumes no liability for
damages, direct or consequential, which may result from the use of
CMFiler.
_____
Individual Registration. . .
CMFiler is a copyrighted shareware program by Charles F. Martin,
President, NoVaSoft and author member of the Association of shareware
Professionals. The evaluation version of CMFiler is offered at no charge
to any potential user for evaluation. Feel free to share it with your
friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of another
system. The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet to
provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products.
If you find this program useful and find that you are using CMFiler
after a 60-day trial period, you must make a registration payment of $30.
Checks may be made payable to Charles F. Martin or NoVaSoft. You will be
sent by return mail a registered copy of the latest version of CMFiler
with hard copy of the user's manual. You are thereby licensed to have as
many copies of CMFiler as you wish (for example, one on each computer you
use at home and work, plus one for your briefcase for troubleshooting
someone else's system), with the understanding that these are for YOUR
personal use and, if your wish, demonstration to others. Please
recognize that this is a CONSIDERABLY relaxed condition on copying and
usage than some authors specify. It is specified this way for YOUR
convenience.
CMFiler - Registration 2
Registration also entitles you to user support by mail or CompuServe
E-mail for at least one year, to a free copy by mail of the next major
update to CMFiler. Registration ALSO entitles you to a $10 cash
commission EACH time a new registrant uses the accompanying registration
form and cites you as the source of her/his evaluation copy of CMFiler.
Thus, not only do you get a truly fine utility packed with features, but
you may effectively reduce your registration fee, or even net some cash,
just by showing and offering the evaluation edition of CMFiler to others.
In addition, if you are a CompuServe subscriber and so wish, you may
be added to an E-mail list and receive periodic upgrades of CMFiler by
CompuServe E-mail. These files will be transmitted as binary files
compressed using the PKZIP utility. Please indicate your desire in the
area provided on the registration form.
You may order your registration by one of several ways:
o Directly, by sending cash, check or money order to NoVaSoft, 3239
Riverview Drive, Triangle, VA 22172-1421. Please fill out the form
below.
o With MC, Visa, Amex or Discover from the Public (software)
Library (PsL), by voice to 1-800-2424-PsL or 713-524-6394, by FAX to
713-524-6398, or by CompuServe Email to 71355,470. Order CMFiler, part
number 10657. These numbers are for orders only. To ensure that you get
the latest version, PsL will notify us the day of your order and we will
ship the product directly to you. Any questions about the status of
shipment of the order, refunds, registration options, volume discounts,
dealer pricing, site licenses, etc., must be directed to NoVaSoft at
703-221-1471 or the address above, and not the PsL order numbers. You
may also mail credit card orders to PsL at P. O. Box 35705, Houston TX
77235-5705.
o With major credit card through the CompuServe Shareware Registry.
Just GO CIS:SWREG and order entry #15.
CMFiler - Registration 3
_____
Site Licenses. . .
As noted above, the basic "unit" of registration is the individual
user (as opposed, for example, to the individual machine), and the person
licensed to use CMFiler by virtue of this registration may have as many
copies on as many machines as he/she wishes, under the condition that
he/she reasonably assures that those copies are not regularly used by
others in a fashion that circumvents their obligation to also register.
This concept works fine for the individual user. For a "corporate" user,
in which a company wishes to provide CMFiler as a workplace resource for
employees, the company's registration may be extended to a license for
multiple users in any combination of two ways:
1. The single-user license conferred with original $30 registration
may be extended to any number of additional users at the rate of $7.50
per additional user, with no increment in the original benefits (ie., no
additional hard copies of manual will be sent, only one copy of the
future upgrade will be sent, technical support provided only to the
original
